Here at Braw Wee Emporium, we’re all about supporting local! From grabbing a coffee tae finding the perfect wee gift, Glasgow’s got some absolute crackers. Whether you're looking for a place to start your day with a roll and sausage, a spot to knuckle down with your laptop, or a cosy corner to sip on a glass of wine, here are a few of my top Glasgow haunts that I’m buzzing to share with you.
1. Rose & Grants – A Breakfast Roll to Set You Up Right!
Right in the heart of the Merchant City, Rose & Grants is my go-to for a proper breakfast roll! Think square sausage or tattie scone with a cracking coffee on the side. It’s the perfect place to kickstart your day, whether you're heading out to shop, or just need a chill spot to catch up with pals.
If ye fancy something vegan, their vegan square sausage is legendary – keeping everyone happy! Plus, their friendly staff and cosy vibe make it a proper Glasgow institution.
2. The Gate – Toasties & Cocktails in the East End
Now, if you’ve not been to The Gate in the East End for one of their famous toasties, what are ye playing at? This place does a mean sandwich, packed full of local ingredients, and their cocktail menu is just as impressive.
It’s a real hidden gem on the Gallowgate, perfect for a wee afternoon bite or a cocktail to wind down after a busy day. Their local spirit selection is worth a shout too – a braw example of supporting our local drinks companies!
3. Social Hub – Creative Space & Coffee for the Remote Workers
Working remotely? Needing a creative space to work but don’t fancy being stuck in the house? Social Hub is one of my fave spots for getting my head down while enjoying some good coffee.
The space is designed for remote workers and creatives alike, with plenty of comfy seats, great Wi-Fi, and a laid-back vibe. Whether you’re freelancing or brainstorming your next big idea, the Social Hub is where you want to be – and if you need a break, their food and drinks will keep you going!
4. Pania – Wine & Work Vibes in the Merchant City
If you fancy somewhere a bit more sophisticated but equally work-friendly, Pania on Candleriggs in the Merchant City is your place. Perfect for sipping a glass of wine while you work away, Pania strikes that balance between being relaxed enough to get some work done but with a buzzing atmosphere that makes it feel like a treat.
The interior is lovely and bright, and the staff are always up for a blether. Whether you're popping in for a quick coffee or settling in for a glass of something stronger, it’s a must-visit.
5. Studio Pylon – Gifts with a Glasgow Twist
Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift? Studio Pylon has got ye covered! They create unique Glasgow-themed art and gifts, from coasters to prints that showcase our city’s charm. They also stock a fab range of jewellery, prints and various bits from other colourful artists! I’m always impressed by the creativity that comes out of this local business – perfect for treating yourself or picking up a wee present for someone special.
Supporting local has never been easier when you can get something that really captures the spirit of Glasgow. Plus, their range of products makes it easy to find something for every occasion.
