Come along to this relaxed fun weekend of outdoor crafting and activities at the Red Squirrel Campsite in the beautiful setting of Glencoe. The weekend will consist of four tutor led workshops, and plenty of time for you to also explore the area, work on your own craft projects or just hangout!

Workshops include Arm Knitting a Giant Blanket, Cyanotype Printing onto Paper & fabric, Intro to Jesmonite casting, and Needle Felting.

The retreat is more than just about crafting, it is bringing people who love the outdoors and crafting together socially - you are encouraged to join us for meal times and the times outwith the workshops for a blether or wander. This is your weekend and we want to make sure it is the most enjoyable experience possible!

Dates: 28th - 30th July and 25th - 27th August 2023.

Retreat Price Includes:

  • All materials, equipment and workshop costs.
  • Welcome drink on Friday.
  • Use of our BBQ and campfire.
  • Campsite fees for two nights (£30)

The Red Squirrel Campsite is a fantastic site for the retreat set in 22 acres of wooded land set in beautiful Glen Coe, surrounded by the mountains of Argyll and only 14 miles from Fort William. It has the joy of wild camping but with great toilet and shower facilities, and a pub just 15-20 minutes walk away.

If you don't have a tent - please get in touch then we may be able to help out.

FAQs

Do I need to book my own camping pass?

If you are coming along for the full weekend retreat your pass is included, if you are booked in for just one or two workshops you need to book direct with the Red Squirrel.

Can I bring friends and family along to camp but who don't take part in the workshops?

Absolutely but they need to buy their own camping passes directly with the Red Squirrel - please note that during summer months the spaces can sell out fast so do this at the time of booking.

What about food?

We encourage eating together as it is a lovely way to get to know the other crafters and your friends are welcome to join us. We will provide a BBQ and coals each night, we have a gas-top stove for those not wishing to BBQ.

We will have tea, coffee and water available and a wee sweet treat or two!

What if it rains?

We have a 6 x 3 m Gazebo that we will be hosting the workshops and social times in if it rains, it is close to the reception and toilet area of the campsite. It has walls and doors just incase it is very rainy (like our last one).

What age are the workshops suitable for?

Individual workshops are suitable for ages 12 plus under adult supervision.

How do I book an individual workshop?

If you click on the dropdown menu you can see the various options for taking part in the individual workshops, just choose the ones you want to take part in.
