Not your nan's wreath. Unless your nan was into rescued toys and a bit of chaos.

Looking for something properly unique to do with your pals? Join Stacey from Disco Crafters Club for her alternative wreath workshop. You will dive into trash treasure trunks full of quirky bits and bobs (mostly toys) that Stacey has been saving from landfill all year. You are guaranteed to find unexpected gems for your design.

Got a special toy or decoration with sentimental value? Bring it along and give your wreath a truly personal touch.

These are not just for Christmas either. Make a memory wreath, a birthday wreath, a New Year wreath, or a just-for-fun wreath.

What to expect

How long: 3 hours.

Do I need to be good at this? No. This session is designed for all levels and no crafty experience is needed. You will be guided throughout, encouraged to experiment, and supported as you find imaginative ways to turn discarded materials into something joyful.

What you actually do:

  • Rummage through rescued "trash" materials to build your wreath
  • Learn upcycling techniques, like how to place broken toys and cover old Christmas decorations with fabric
  • Add a personal toy or keepsake into your design if you like

What you take home: A completely one-of-a-kind recycled wreath, some new creative skills, and the smug satisfaction of having saved a pile of toys from landfill.

What the craic is like: Fun, chatty and a wee bit bonkers. Only 12 places per session so you get plenty of help.

Dates

  • Thursday 19 November 2026, 6pm to 9pm
  • Sunday 22 November 2026, 10.30am to 1.30pm

Meet your tutor

Stacey from Disco Crafters Club is a quirky, fun-loving and super chatty maker who recently moved back to Scotland after thirteen years as a fashion designer in London, designing for the likes of Next, River Island, Debenhams and TK Maxx, before running her own creative businesses for a further seven years. She always dreamt of coming home, and now she is back in the bonnie land and buzzing to get her crafts out and meet fellow Scottish creatives.

Questions we get asked

  • I am not crafty at all, can I come? Absolutely. No experience needed, Stacey will guide you the whole way.
  • Do I need to bring anything? Nope, everything is provided. If you have a toy or decoration that means something to you, bring it along to add to your wreath.
  • Is it just a Christmas wreath? It can be, but it does not have to be. Memory wreaths, birthday wreaths and just-for-fun wreaths are all welcome.
  • Where do the toys come from? Stacey collects broken and unwanted toys from parents all year, then cleans and sorts them so they get a second life instead of going to landfill.
