This week is for anyone who's ever wanted to call themselves an artist.

Make Your Mark is five afternoons of bold mark making, printing and publishing, finishing with your very own handmade zine filled with prints you made yourself. No experience needed. No wrong answers. Just your ideas, your style and a week to find out what you're capable of.

Oh and the Commonwealth Games are opening in Glasgow this week. The city is going to be electric. 

WHAT YOU'LL MAKE

Monday: Posca Pen Posca pens on whatever surface speaks to you — bold illustration on black card, a painted canvas, or a 3D object like a pot or wooden shape. Graphic, expressive and completely your own style.

Tuesday: Geli Printing Geli printing is one of the most satisfying print techniques around, roll ink onto a gelatine plate, layer colours and textures, press and pull. Leave with 4–6 unique prints that are impossible to replicate. Every single one is an original.

Wednesday: Printmaking Choose your technique, we'll cover some simple mono printing and screen printing techniques and make 4 finished prints. Bold, graphic and genuinely skilled work. Your prints from today and Tuesday become the raw material for Thursday.

Thursday: Zine Making Take your geli prints and printmaking from Tuesday and Wednesday and turn them into your own handmade zine, layout, collage, illustration, binding. Part sketchbook, part magazine, part whatever you want it to be. Completely yours.

Friday: Free Choice + Showcase More geli prints, a second Posca piece or finishing and extending your zine, then set up the whole week's work as an exhibition. Parents and carers welcome from 3:45pm.

WHO IS THIS FOR? Teenagers aged 12–16 who see themselves as creative, artistic or just curious. The kind of person who fills sketchbooks, loves a good stationery shop or has always wanted to try printmaking but never had the chance. No formal art experience needed — just an open mind and a willingness to make a mess.
