Patchwork art, no sewing, maximum sparkle.

Create a little time for yourself or grab your pals and join Stacey from Disco Crafters Club for this disco-inspired Kinusaiga workshop.

Kinusaiga is a Japanese-inspired fabric patchwork art that does not need a single stitch. You peel back adhesive paper sheeting, use the adhesive shape to cut out your fabric, then use a pointed tool to tuck the fabric neatly into the cut lines. Stacey will show you how to finish the edges beautifully and assemble your art into its frame.

Pick your design

1. The Disco Ball, for all the divas out there.

2. The Ziggy Stardust Flash, a glam rock lightning bolt for the Bowie fans.

Choose on the day. With heaps of fabric swatches in every colour and pattern you can think of, no two finished pieces will ever look the same.

What to expect

Do I need to be good at this? No. This is a beginner-friendly craft and no previous experience is needed.

What you take home: Your own gorgeous, one-of-a-kind framed artwork to hang proudly at home.

What the craic is like: Relaxed, sparkly and social. Capped at 16 so there is plenty of help to go round.

Meet your tutor

Stacey from Disco Crafters Club is a quirky, fun-loving and super chatty maker who recently moved back to Scotland after thirteen years as a fashion designer in London, designing for the likes of Next, River Island, Debenhams and TK Maxx, before running her own creative businesses for a further seven years. She always dreamt of coming home, and now she is back in the bonnie land and buzzing to get her crafts out and meet fellow Scottish creatives.

Questions we get asked

  • What is Kinusaiga? A no-sew fabric patchwork technique. Fabric is pressed into grooves in a board to create a design, a bit like a fabric mosaic.
  • I cannot sew, can I still do this? Yes! There is no sewing at all, that is the beauty of it.
  • Do I need to bring anything? Nothing but yourself. Everything is provided.
  • Which design should I pick? Whichever makes you happiest. The Disco Ball is a showstopper, the Ziggy Stardust Flash is bold and graphic. You choose on the day.
