Make your own Jesmonite Bum Pot at Braw Wee's Glasgow Studio. We will take you through each step so you can make your own unique Jesmonite pieces, in your own colours, that look like nobody else's.
What to expect
How long: 2.5 hours.
Do I need to be good at this? No. There is no drawing, no measuring, no skill you either have or you do not. If you can stir a cup of tea you can do this.
What you actually do: Mix pigments, marble your colours, pour, wait, unmould. The unmoulding is the good bit. Nobody knows what they have made until it comes out and everyone crowds round.
What you take home: Your own Bum Pot, plus a couple of coasters or tealight holders. Use the pot for pens, make up brushes, or just a lovely wee pot to keep your bits in.
What to wear: Something you would not cry over. Jesmonite is water based and non toxic but it does not care about your good jeans. Aprons provided.
What the craic is like: Loud, a bit daft, and everyone leaves pals. Light refreshments on us and you are welcome to bring a bottle.
Who it's for: Age 14 and up. All levels, which really means all levels.
We use acrylic resin, a non toxic water based resin that is completely safe to work with.
My friend Kate and I were visiting Glasgow the week of Thanksgiving (we're American) and we spotted the Bum Pot workshop online. They had coffee, wine, candy, delightful people, glitter, and bums. It was the highlight of our trip. Cannot recommend enough.
