Pumpkin Candle Workshop – Autumn Soy Candle Making in Glasgow

We went into the cupboards, and we found more pumpkins.

Our pumpkin jars were discontinued by the supplier and we have never been able to find them anywhere else. Last autumn we thought we were down to the last few. Then we opened the cupboards properly and counted: 84 pumpkins. That is the lot. No reorder, no next year, no going back to the supplier and asking nicely.

So we are running four workshops this autumn, and then the pumpkin retires for good.

Pick your pumpkin

Every ticket makes three candles. You choose the shape you take home.

Option A: two small pumpkins and one classic candle. A matching wee pair in amber or matt amber, plus a 20cl candle to actually burn on a Tuesday.

Option B: one big pumpkin and two classic candles. The showpiece, our largest jar, plus two 20cl candles.

Same price either way, £45. 

What to expect

How long: 2.5 hours.

Do I need to be good at this? No. This class is built for people who have never made a candle in their life. We guide you through every step.

What you actually do: Pick your scents from our autumn range, pumpkin spice, vanilla, spiced orange and loads more, choose your colours, and hand-pour all three. There is a lot of sniffing jars and changing your mind while they set. That is part of it.

What you take home: Three hand-poured soy candles in your own colours and scents, packaged with custom labels.

What to wear: Nothing precious. Wax is forgiving but it is still wax. Aprons provided.

What the craic is like: Cosy and relaxed. Capped at 14 so it stays social and you get plenty of help. Perfect for a pals' night, a date, or a solo creative reset.

Who it is for: Age 12 and up. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Why the pumpkins are finishing

We bought these jars from a supplier who stopped stocking them, and nobody else makes them. There are 84 left and 56 places across the whole of autumn. When the cupboard is empty the workshop retires. If you have been meaning to do this one, this is the year.

Already have a Braw Wee pumpkin? Refill it. £35

Made one with us before? Your pumpkin does not have a shelf life. Bring two of your own clean, empty Braw Wee jars to any of these sessions and refill them with fresh scents, and we will give you a classic container to make your third.

So the workshop retires, but the pumpkin keeps going. That is the whole point of getting one.

• Right in the city centre, easy by train, bus or subway. Please note there are six steps up to the lifts. There is a wheelchair lift but we need to know in advance.

• Need to reschedule? No problem, just get in touch - we prefer no less than 48 hours notice.
• Refunds only if Braw Wee cancels. Otherwise we issue store credit. Full policy at checkout.

Questions we get asked

• I have never made candles before, can I join? Yes. This class is designed for total beginners and we will guide you every step of the way.
• What is the difference between Option A and Option B? Option A is two small pumpkins and one classic candle. Option B is one big pumpkin and two classic candles. Three candles either way, same price. It is purely about which shape you would rather have on your shelf.
• Can I mix and match? Not this time. The counts are tight and we have worked out exactly how many of each we can do, so it is one option or the other.
• What is included in the price? All materials, your jars, soy wax, fragrance, dyes, packaging, labels and tutor guidance. You take home three finished candles.
• What happens when my pumpkin burns down? Clean it out and bring it back to a future session. Refill tickets are £35 and you can refill two of your own jars, and we throw in a classic container for your third. Your jar, your scent, as many autumns as you like.
• Can I make more than three candles? Yes, extra classic candles are £10 each on the night, subject to materials on hand.
• What should I bring? Nothing but yourself, and clothes you do not mind getting a bit waxy. Aprons provided. If you are on a refill ticket, bring two clean empty Braw Wee jars.
• What if I need to cancel or reschedule? We will try to reschedule you first. Refunds are only given if Braw Wee cancels, otherwise we issue store credit.
• Is there an age limit? Ages 12 and up. Under 16s must attend with an adult.
