Pure Dead Shiny: Disco Cone Workshop

A Glasgow icon… with a disco twist.

If you’ve ever wandered through Glasgow and wondered why there’s a traffic cone perched on top of the Duke of Wellington statue, you’re not alone, but to us Glaswegians it’s part of our identity and humour. It has become iconic during the World Cup with the Tartan Army decked every statue in Boston with traffic cones! But we obviously it’s time to give one the sparkle it deserves.

Join us at Braw Wee Craft Club and transform an ordinary traffic cone into a dazzling piece of disco art using hundreds of tiny mirrored tiles. Whether you keep it at home, brighten up your studio, or gift it to someone who loves a bit of Glasgow humour, you’ll leave with a conversation piece that’s guaranteed to turn heads.

No experience is needed, we’ll guide you through every step in our friendly city centre studio.

• Mini traffic cone (23cm)

Workshop Details

• Approximately 2.5–3 hours
• Suitable for beginners
• Ages 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)

Good to Know

Applying hundreds of mirror tiles is surprisingly relaxing (and a little addictive!). Depending on your pace, you may finish your cone during the workshop or take the final few tiles home to complete.
